Cut Your Own Christmas Tree:
A Festive Experience at Valley Tree Farm
We offer Fraiser and Balsam Fir along with Black Hills Spruce, Colorado Blue Spruce to choose and "cut your own". We also offer many fresh cut trees that you can choose from! These are already cut for you and laid out nicely for you to see.
Before you go home we will shake the tree for you if you choose, to help remove those dead needles that are trying to shed naturally from the tree.

Protocol & Guidelines
To keep things moving smoothly, enter in the South driveway. Pull up to the building and you will be greeted with a saw and instructions. You can then drive out to the field and choose your own tree. We also have fresh cut trees available if you don't want to cut your own.
After you find your perfect Christmas Tree you can park in the grass between the highway and the shed. At the shed/Market, someone will measure your tree for you. If you choose to have us '“shake” your tree, to remove any old needles, that can be done at this time, before your purchase.
You are welcome inside to a warm cup of apple cider or hot chocolate, feel free to browse the Market. We also have wreaths, garland, planters and tree stands. Our Market items include but not limited to home decor, jars of salsa, sauces, jams and apparel.
Instructions for Cutting Trees
We ask that you cut as close to the ground as possible. A 12” minimum from the ground would be appreciated. It takes us several years to grow the trees and we ask that you take the entire tree. We do understand, that if there is some damage to the bottom part of the tree, you do not need to take that part of the tree. Also, if you see a tree that has been trimmed up from the bottom, that means the tree can be cut for a Christmas Tree. You can leave these stumps taller.
Home Maintenance
Give your tree one more fresh cut (1/2” is fine) right before placing it in the stand. Then add water. You may need to add water 2-3 times a day the first couple days, then just once a day following.
Enjoy the smell of your fresh tree!
